Fantastic shoot in my backyard, also known as The Lumberyard. This place has so many cool spots to shoot. I find something new all the time! We book The Lumberyard out for weddings, parties and any event you can think of. Its a really cool laid back place and the best part is that its right in my backyard! Allison Jansen Photography has exclusive rights to photograph there so if you want pictures like these in a place like this, just give me a call! If you want to book a party here, you can email me or feel free to check out the website: www.thelumberyard.info

Let Us All Eat Cake! ~~~Allison Jansen Photography ~~~Huntsville Al Wedding Photographer

April 4th, 2010 | Posted in Weddings |

After a good winter break, I am rejuvenated, excited and really looking forward to all of my upcoming weddings this year! While redoing my new website I have been going through all my pictures trying to pick out the ones to add to the new site I realized that I have shot around 250 weddings!! This means I have seen around 500 cakes, 250 wedding dresses, 250 bridal bouquets, 250 reception decors. Wow…. this kind of blows my mind a little. :)

Since I have all these cool shots of all of these great ideas, I thought I would share with you all to maybe inspire you to come up with something cool and unique…or really just beautiful.  Here goes….

Hailey turns one! ~~~Huntsville AL children’s photographer

Cute as a button! She was so excited about her cupcake!

She stood there holding her cupcake so proudly and every time someone walked by she would “talk” to them so excitedly.

We just knew she was bragging about her awesome cupcake and telling them how yummy it was.

Even though the cupcake scene was so adorable, the best part was when she decided to pout by sticking her finger up her nose!

She tried to get both fingers up there but she knew the threat was just as good.  :)

Welcome!

October 19th, 2008 | Posted in Weddings |

Welcome to my very first newsletter!

There are so many new things going on at Allison Jansen Photography Inc. lately that I thought it would be a good idea to get everyone a little more connected. The first and most obvious news by now is my new website! I have a ton of new images up as well as a few other goodies. Things have been progressing quite smoothly over the past couple years. I am doing an average of 40 weddings per year, many deliveries at Huntsville Hospital and a ton of beautiful pregnant moms and cute cuddly babies. It’s keeping me on my toes for sure. I have moved my studio once again and am as happy as can be in my new location. I didn’t move far, only next door. I am now sharing a building with Sound Cell Recording studio at 601 Meridian. You can still park in the same place as before but now just come inside to the building on the left of my old place. You should stop in my old place for a look around though! There is a new shop called “To Die For” It’s a great little gift shop, furniture and accessory store. Perfect for Christmas shopping. (Can you believe I am bringing up Christmas already??!!)

My new studio is quite cozy and the best part is that I have added a new viewing room with a large TV for viewing and ordering pictures. So if you have had trouble in the past deciding on what pictures to order, or if you just never got around to ordering them online, you can come in, have some milk and cookies and view them very large and clear on my new screen. With the help of Amanda, my sales associate and right hand gal, you can now easily pick out your favorite pictures. Please feel free to set up an appointment to come in and view your pictures, whether it’s for your album, enlargements or for Christmas gifts/cards (There I go again already talking about Christmas!) Actually for those of you that have ordered the coffee table style album, and have not turned in your pictures to have it printed, they need to get the order in by Nov 1st if you want to have your album by Christmas.

In other news at AJP, my other right hand gal, Sky, has sadly left us to go to finish out college at Montevallo. She does still come up for the occasional wedding and will be doing all Birmingham weddings that I have planned. She is still editing through the magic of FTP on the web but I no longer get to see her happy face in the studio on a daily basis. She sends out a big hello to all of the brides and grooms from the past. I am sure you remember her, helping out with boutonnieres for the boys who have no idea how to put them on, making jokes to get some real smiles out of you, the occasional blinding from the reflector, or much needed shade from the other large gadget that she is always holding up while trying to avoid the wind! ;)

My new man on the job at weddings is James (also know as Jimmy). James has been a local photographer for quite some time around the Huntsville area. Most of my brides-to-be will get to know James at the upcoming weddings and a few of you have already had the pleasure. Not to worry, although I have yet to see James pin a boutonniere on anyone yet, he still has the same great reflector and diffusing skills as Sky. He also fits in quite well photographing the boys getting ready on the wedding day.

As for me, besides running around crazy moving locations and getting my new website up and running, I have been married for about a year and a half now to my own wonderful husband, Matt Hall. I now know the inner workings of a bride’s crazy, over stressed mind and have a whole new respect for what my brides are going through with all the planning the year leading up to and then finally, the last few stressful minutes before the big walk down the isle. We bought our first home almost exactly 1 year ago and have a 6 month old Golden retriever puppy named Zoey who is quite the handful! All in all, the last few years have been pretty great to us. It’s hard to believe I am about to embark on my 5th year in business in Huntsville!

I plan to send one of these out every month or so with new photographs and any news or specials goings on.  I have so many new photographs posted that it would have been impossible to just pick out a few to post today. Therefore, I invite you to go and check out the new website. Please feel free to send this on to anyone you wish. I would love to get some new subscribers. You should also expect to get a slightly different newsletter from my baby website as well.

I want to leave you with a very special Thank You for helping my business grow. It’s because of you that my business is where it is today and I greatly appreciate that!
